WWE SmackDown superstar Mark Henry hyperextended his knee at this past Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings in Tucson Arizona. Henry, who is already working through a groin injury and has had knee problems in the past, threw a punch at The Big Show, however his knee moved forward before he had completely planted his foot and the finish to SmackDown was changed on the fly due to the injury.

Original plans had called for Daniel Bryan to attack The Big Show with a chair once Show had Mark Henry laid out, only for Show to make a comeback and chokeslam Bryan and end with Mark Henry splashing Daniel Bryan, to showcase that Bryan may not be able to overcome both behemoths. An audible was called on the episode scheduled to air tonight, as Henry collapses before the show cuts to commercial and the finish which is a count-out occurs off camera with Daniel Bryan attacking The Big Show when they come back from the break and Mark Henry nowhere to be seen.

WWE have so far issued no medical update on Henry prior to SmackDown and it is expected that he will work the triple threat steel cage match against Daniel Bryan and The Big Show at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view this Sunday.
