In an update on the news that broke earlier today that Global Force Wrestling had indefinitely suspended Unified IMPACT World Champion & GFW Global Champion Alberto El Patron as part of their investigation into his domestic violence allegation at the Orlando International Airport over the weekend, Global Force Wrestling’s Chief Creative Officer Jeff Jarrett discussed that news in a conference call with the media earlier this afternoon.
Jarrett noted that despite the company indefinitely suspending Alberto El Patron, this will not cause them to edit him out of their recently taped shows. Jarrett noted that the situation is unfortunate and reiterated that Global Force Wrestling and Anthem officials are digging into the matter on their own to find out exactly what happened at the Orlando International Airport.
Jarrett said that he has spoken with CEO’s from various companies for advice on what he should do in regards to Alberto El Patron, but said that there is never an absolutely correct decision to make. Jarrett said that he addressed everyone in the office today before a production meeting and told them that the responsibility of the company being involved in this situation is on his shoulders, but that he wants to make the best decision for the company as a result of what has happened. Jarrett reiterated that Global Force Wrestling will not be taking Alberto El Patron out of the taped episodes as that would further damage the brand, presumably due to El Patron being the current Unified Champion.
