New Japan Pro Wrestling announced as part of the NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed 2023 event on Saturday night that Joey Janela will be appearing for the promotion as part of their NJPW Lonestar Shootout event on November 10th in Dallas, Texas.

A vignette aired, showing someone throwing darts in a bar, with the target on the board revealed to be Toru Yano, before the person throwing those darts was then shown to be Janela.
