WWE superstar John Cena took part in a media call earlier this week to promote the release of the new movie Blockers, in which he has a role in, and discussed the potential of UFC star Conor McGregor switching to joining the WWE, in a similar way to Ronda Rousey.

Cena said that McGregor would be a perfect fit in the WWE and discussed the idea of a potential match between the two stating, “Would I ever be up for getting in a ring with Conor McGregor? Absolutely, but that would mean he would have to be up for getting in a WWE ring, so let’s not put the cart before the horse ladies and gents, let’s see what Mr. McGregor wants to do and then figure it out from there. I’m not the one to hand out invites, I don’t do that, that’s not in my job description, that’s going to be up to him. He gets the entertainment aspect of sport and I think he gets it as good, or better than anyone else. The way he promoted the fight against Mayweather, that’s what we do, he did it as good, or better than us.”

McGregor has noted in the past that his camp held discussions with WWE about him possibly coming on board for a match at WrestleMania, however with his UFC commitments and other commitments, the prospect as of now remains just fantasy.
