In an update on former WWE NXT Women’s Champion, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion and 2017 WWE Mae Young Classic winner Kairi Sane’s contract with the company, an updated report from Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer notes that Kairi’s contract does not expire until next month, a change from original reports that her contract expired on December 10th.

The report notes that Kairi had given the impression that she was not going to renew her deal after WWE held discussions in regards to her renewing her contract and returning to wrestle, only for Kairi to note that she did not want to live in the United States.

Kairi, who was written off WWE television in July 2020 in order to return home to Japan continued to work for the company in an ambassadorial role and provided commentary for the 2021 WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. She announced recently that she would be launching a 24-hour fitness gym called PARA-FIT 24 in Shonan Enonshima area of Japan.
