New GHC Heavyweight Champion Keiji Mutoh revealed in a recent press conference that he has been contacted by IMPACT Wrestling about returning to the company to defend the GHC Heavyweight Championship.

Mutoh worked for the company several times over the years, with his last appearance coming back in 2019.

Additionally, it should be noted that IMPACT Wrestling star Eddie Edwards is the only non-Japanese talent to win the GHC Heavyweight Championship, holding the title for 118 days from August 26th, 2017 until December 22nd, 2017 when he was defeated by Kenoh, so the company could look to have Edwards challenge Mutoh for the title, however due to current COVID-19 restrictions, as well as quarantine guidelines, one would have to assume that it will be some time before Mutoh makes an appearance.
