Leo Gao, who was one of the recruits from China signed by the company, was informed by the WWE today that he was released from his contract, according to a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet who note that an injury suffered over the Summer may have played a part in the company releasing him.

The report notes that Leo injured his neck during a training session back in August and even though he was recently cleared to return to limited action in training, it was a very serious injury.
