SCOTT FISHMAN PROMOTED TO SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, SPIKE TV

New York, NY – April 30, 2012 – Scott Fishman, a 31-year veteran at Viacom, has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Executive Producer, Spike TV, it was announced today by Kevin Kay, Spike TV President, to whom he will continue to report. Fishman oversees all of the production responsibilities for Spike TV’s key sports franchises including TNA Wrestling and Bellator Fighting Championships (currently on MTV 2 but moving to Spike next year).

Fishman will continue to partner with Jon Slusser, Spike TV’s Senior Vice President, Sports and Multiplatform Programming to build’s Spike’s sports properties.

Fishman joined Spike TV for its launch in 2003 as Vice President, Executive Producer where he served as the liaison between the network and various network productions. Most notably, Fishman was instrumental in developing TNA’s “Impact Wrestling” into a highly-rated series on Thursday nights and one of the network’s signature shows. He also served as Executive in Charge of Production for network’s high-profile franchises including The Ultimate Fighting Championships and The Video Game Awards. In 2011, Fishman took the reigns as Executive Producer of Bellator Fighting Championships for Viacom Media Networks, and has been a driving force in enhancing the production values of the weekly events.

Fishman began his career at MTV in 1981 as a Production Assistant, and was one of the first employees hired by the upstart music channel. From 1983-1990 he served as Director for various MTV programming including “Remote Control,” “MTV Spring Break,” “Yo! MTV Raps,” “New Years Eve Live,” and other concert and event based shows. Fishman relocated to Orlando in 1990 and became an integral part of the Nickelodeon Studios Florida production team. After producing and directing multiple programs for Nickelodeon, including co-creating “GUTS,” he moved up the ranks to Vice President, General Manager, Nickelodeon Studios Florida. In this position (1997-2005), he oversaw the strategic planning and day-to-day operations for NSF.

Fishman is a graduate of SUNY Brockport with Bachelor of Science in Communications. A resident of Orlando, Fishman also served as an Adjunct Professor University of Central Florida in 2003.
