Legendary women’s wrestler Malia Hosaka announced earlier in the week that she would be retiring from the wrestling business after 25 years due to personal reasons. Hosaka had opportunities in both WCW and the WWE however never had the opportunity to shine and was a staple on the independent scene working for promotions such as SHIMMER Women Athletes in recent years.

“It has been a great 25 years and I am grateful to all the fans who have supported me through the years, but I am officially retired from the wrestling industry. Thank you to all who supported, employed and believed in me through the years.”

Following the immediate retirement of Hosaka, Traditional Championship Wrestling, where Hosaka was booked for a triple threat match, announced that their April 7th taping in Fort Smith, Arkansas would now feature a first-time ever match between Mickie James and Cheerleader Melissa to replace the originally scheduled Malia Hosaka vs. Mickie James vs. Cheerleader Melissa match.
