WWE superstar Matt Hardy, who returned to WWE television this week and who, over the past several weeks has been releasing “Free The Delete” videos, has been in discussions with the company regarding a new deal, as his current deal is scheduled to expire in February 2020, according to a report from PWInsider.com.

The report notes that how Hardy will be used going forward has been one of the biggest sticking points in the negotiations as Hardy realizes that if he signs, it could likely be the final contract of his in-ring career and he is looking to be used a certain way and not be brought back to simply put someone over.

The report adds that if Hardy does not sign a new deal, then he would be free and clear to perform or sign elsewhere from February 2020, however his brother Jeff would not as it would be expected that the company would add time to his contract due to his legal issues and leg injury that have kept him from performing.
