Mike Halac, best known to professional wrestling fans as Mantaur, passed away at the age of 55, with Halac’s daughter announcing that her father had passed away in his sleep.

Halac, under the name Bruiser Mastino, was part of the Catch Wrestling Association roster in Germany for several years before signing with the WWE in 1994 and making his debut on the January 7th, 1995 episode of WWF Superstars of Wrestling against Walter Slow. Halac’s last appearance came at the July 23rd WWF In Your House 2 event before beginning to make appearances for ECW.

Over the years, Halac appeared for ECW as mentioned above, Catch Wrestling Assocation, the United States Wrestling Association and made several on/off appearances for the World Wrestling Federation as Goldust’s bodyguard and Tank of The Truth Commision, with his last known appearance coming as part of GCW’s Joey Janela’s Spring Break 3 event where he was eliminated by Cecil Nyx in a Battle Royal.

During his in-ring career, Halac was a 1992 Catch Cup Champion for the Catch Wrestling Association and a one-time United States Wrestling Association Unified World Heavyweight Champion.

On behalf of Wrestling-News.Net, we would like to extend our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Mike “Mantaur” Halac.
