In an update on Rey Mysterio’s current WWE status, a report from PWInsider.com notes that there has been lots of talk within the company in regards to Rey’s current deal as it expires shortly after WrestleMania and while he is no longer considered a top star in the company, his merchandise continues to sell well.

The internal belief is that Rey is preparing to finish up his last WWE run and could end up on the new AAA TV show that debuts on the El Rey Network in the fall as he has remained close friends with Konnan from their WCW days, while Konnan has a big part to play when it comes to that show on the El Rey Network.
