In a recent interview as part of the Sports Media With Richard Deitsch podcast, WWE on-air talent Paul Heyman discussed several topics, including the possibility of him launching his own podcast.
“I think I’m self-censored anyways, because there is so much to say on any subject and only so much time to say it. I understand that there is diplomacy involved in what I’d have to say, but I’d be honest and say, it does no good to discuss this at this time, because to get in-depth on this would cause too much of a ripple effect.
I would say, that if asked on a podcast, I have been dabbling with the idea of a podcast since probably 2010, maybe 2011, I was inches away from doing one with Ariel Helwani and this was before I returned to the WWE, he would cover mixed martial arts, and I would cover pro wrestling/sports entertainment and then, we’d switch during the podcast and show the other perspective. At the last second, we pulled out of that deal. I’ve come very close a couple of times and decided not to do it, despite an enormous amount of money being thrown my way about it.”
