The original plan for WWE SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon at the WrestleMania 35 pay-per-view was for him to face off against Daniel Bryan, however with the decision made by Vince McMahon to put the WWE Championship on Daniel Bryan and subsequently turn him heel, the match has now been dropped, according to a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Meanwhile, the same report notes that the current plans are for Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch to headline the event, as following the injury to Becky Lynch and the cancellation of their Survivor Series match, Vince McMahon reportedly spoke to Ronda Rousey and decided that the best course of action was to do the match at WrestleMania, which led to the two going back and forth on social media to continue their feud.
There is a feeling that with Charlotte Flair facing Ronda Rousey at this Sunday’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view that WWE pushed their plans for that match at a future WrestleMania to allow the Lynch/Rousey match to take place at next year’s event.
