All Elite Wrestling management are said to not be happy that initial plans regarding a current star making appearances for IMPACT Wrestling as part of an ongoing storyline broke down, according to a report from Bob Kapur of SLAM Wrestling.
The report notes that All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan was upset with Sammy Guevara for voicing his complaints about a potential storyline with IMPACT Wrestling where Chris Jericho had the idea of Guevara going over to IMPACT Wrestling after Guevara walked out of The Inner Circle, telling Alex Marvez that he needed a ‘break from this place’ in a backstage interview on a recent episode of AEW Dynamite.
The idea was formulated, which Tony Khan agreed to, with plans made to shoot the angle, however Guevara voiced his complaints about the creative direction of the angle. IMPACT Wrestling received word of Guevara’s complaints, and contacted Tony Khan and Chris Jericho, leading to Jericho texting Guevara to return home after Guevara had arrived at the Skyway Studios in Nashville, Tennessee where IMPACT Wrestling have been filming their programming.
The report does not state what the plan was, or what Sammy Guevara had an overall issue with, however it was stated that Chris Jericho had to reach out to IMPACT Wrestling’s Executive Vice President Don Callis about Guevara not coming in, which in turn led to concern from AEW management that Guevara may have negatively affected the working relationship between both sides.
