WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair were involved in a backstage confrontation following the Title Exchange segment on last night’s episode of WWE SmackDown on FOX, according to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com who notes that the situation was heated, but did not get physical between the two.

The report notes that the issue arose after Charlotte Flair was said to have voiced concerns before WWE SmackDown went on the air, concerned over the segment that featured herself and Becky trading the titles, with Flair voicing that she did not want to look weak, nor did she want her title reign to look weak during the segment and that despite those concerns, the segment went on as planned to close the show.

The report adds that during the title exchange segment, there was a moment where Charlotte Flair was to hand the belt to Becky Lynch, but instead she pulled it away and threw the belt on the canvas, which was not the way that the exchange was expected to go, which at that point led to WWE official Sonya Deville demanding that Charlotte Flair retrieve the belt and hand it to her, which Flair did so, before Deville then asked for Becky’s title, however instead of handing it directly to Flair, Becky threw the title at her, which was also not part of the original plans.

Additionally, Charlotte Flair picked up the belt, done some mic work to set up her feud with Sasha Banks to close the show, as Lynch left, teasing a potential Survivor Series match against Flair or Banks, however after the broadcast concluded, Flair went to the back and had a confrontation with Lynch, arguing over the segment, with Lynch feeling that Flair ended up trying to make her look bad, with loud words between the two before they both went their separate ways.
