Wrestling-News.Net reader Jeffrey Jacobs attended last night’s Big Time Wrestling photo, signing and Q&A session featuring Bret “The Hitman” Hart and “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels at the Pennsylvania Hotel in New York City.

Highlights are below:

– Michaels said that using a mini Bret Hart was a Vince Russo idea and at that point, he was willing to do anything asked of him. Bret said that he saw it on TV and wished that he had a better ending in the company.

– Bret and Shawn agreed that Randy Savage should be in the WWE Hall of Fame, while Bret said that his brother Owen should be in there also, which Michaels agreed to.

– Bret said that he would have loved to wrestle Kurt Angle, while he would also have loved to wrestle John Cena and would have given Cena the best match that Cena would ever had. Michaels said that his dream match would have been against the names he grew up watching such as Harley Race and Ricky Steamboat and said that it was a dream to get to wrestle Ric Flair, who he absolutely idolized.

– Both noted that getting the opportunity to shine was the biggest obstacle that they faced when they started off in professional wrestling.

– Bret noted that he would have given the belt back to the company after the 1997 Survivor Series pay-per-view.

– Michaels said that some of his favorite matches are his debut, the ironman match with Bret Hart and the ladder match with Scott Hall. Michaels said that the ladder match with Hall can probably be looked back on as a defining moment, as the WWE felt that he could become a huge star after that match.

– Michaels said that he didn’t feel comfortable with some ideas when he returned in 2002, such as cursing, as he was a born-again Christian.

– Bret said that if he was competing on WrestleMania this Sunday, he would love to face John Cena, while Michaels said that he’d love to take on someone he could work a great match with, such as CM Punk or Daniel Bryan.

– Bret said that the WWE have too much talking and not enough wrestling, while HBK said that the WWE realise that it’s hard to stay fresh with so many other shows on television, however he doesn’t watch that much WWE anymore, because after being on the road for so long, he’s now catching up on shows that he’s missed or watching other shows on certain days.

– Michaels said that he wore a white version of The Undertaker’s attire at WrestleMania 25, to be the opposite of The Undertaker’s dark side and said that no one can intimidate The Undertaker, as his attire didn’t work out too well and he lost.

– On their motivation to be a pro wrestler, Bret said that gaining credibility and earning people’s respect kept him going, while Michaels said that he couldn’t get enough of being inside the ring and didn’t need any motivation, but just wanted to be in the ring.
