WWE veteran Rey Mysterio, who has been featured heavily in a storyline involving his son Dominick and Seth Rollins on WWE television, is currently working for the company without a contract as the deal that he signed back in September 2018 has expired, according to a report from Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer.

The report notes that Mysterio and Dominick were originally scheduled to appear in-person on the June 29th edition of WWE RAW, however their segment was changed to a taped appearance from their home, while there were also plans for Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins to take place at WWE Extreme Rules in an “Eye For An Eye” match, which has yet to be announced.

45-year-old Mysterio, who has worked dates for New Japan Pro Wrestling and Lucha Libre AAA, as well as the All In event prior to the launch of All Elite Wrestling during his time away from WWE, is said to be keeping his options open as he does not want to “burn any bridges” that could have a ripple effect on his son Dominick’s career in the business.
