The initial tournament that will launch the WWE NXT brand in India is scheduled to take place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida due to the current travel restrictions because of the Coronavirus pandemic, according to a report from Sportskeeda, who note that the potential launch date for the brand is expected to be January 26th, 2021, the same day that India celebrates Republic Day.

The report notes that the event will feature appearances from talents including former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, as well as Sunil Singh, Samir Singh, Jeet Rama, Indus Sher (Saurav & Rinku) and one or more of the three recruits signed by WWE after tryouts in India and currently at the WWE Performance Center who include Gurvinder Singh, Sukhwinder Grewal and Laxmi Rajpoot.

The report adds that furthering its expansion, the WWE are also looking to add NXT Asia, which would be a brand that would feature talents from locations such as Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and more, while a fully-functional WWE Performance Center is currently in the works to launch in India at some time in 2022.
