In a recent interview with FOX Sports MX, WWE superstar Rey Mysterio opened up on why he missed this year’s WrestleMania 36 pay-per-view.

Mysterio said that he was feeling a bit under the weather when the company started to tape shows at the WWE Performance Center and that the WWE doctors opted for him to stay at home to avoid any potential issues in the process. Mysterio added that he showed no signs or symptoms of Coronavirus, and speculated that it may have been caused from him travelling from San Diego to Orlando.

Mysterio was originally scheduled to face off against Andrade for the WWE United States Championship, however when Mysterio was forced to back out due to the above reasons, WWE had plans for Andrade to defend against a different opponent until changing their minds to have Andrade and Angel Garza team up to face The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) for the WWE RAW Tag Team Championships. Andrade later went down with a rib injury, which resulted in WWE NXT talent Austin Theory stepping in to team with Garza against The Street Profits at WrestleMania 36.
