Samoa Joe was the recent guest on Chris Jericho’s “Talk Is Jericho” podcast and while he didn’t discuss any face-to-face meetings with WWE during the interview, Joe responded to Jericho’s question if he has any intention of joining the WWE stated that he wanted fans to know that there have been discussions and there is some negotiations going on. Jericho noted that Joe’s name came up while he was speaking to Triple H a few years ago and that Triple H told Jericho that he was a fan of Joe and his wrestling style.

Joe is expected to take part in a tryout for the company shortly after the WrestleMania 31 pay-per-view and while they are very interested in him, they want to get an up-close look at him in action before offering him a deal. As mentioned above, Triple H is one of the talents pushing for Samoa Joe to be signed, while we have also heard that John Cena, who worked with Joe at the start of their careers in now-defunct Ultimate Pro Wrestling.

While Joe is currently working independent wrestling dates and is booked for several Ring of Honor Wrestling events, ROH officials do not expect him to remain there for long and wanted to get him announced for several events immediately and push him near to the main event on shows.
