Former WWE Diva, Serena Deeb, who was released from the company back in August of 2010 for reportedly being drunk in front of fans on the road, has opened up about her drinking problems and how she overcame everything.

Speaking on her Twitter account, Serena noted that she is incredibly proud as it marked one full year that she has gone without drinking alcohol and a year ago, she looked herself in the mirror and re-evaluated her priorities and decided to make serious changes. Serena noted that she has always wanted to be a role model and help other people around her because she believes that makes the world a better place and she hopes that her message can inspire and encourage whoever reads it.

Serena noted that often times when people approach change, it can be overwhelming, as one week is hard, but a full year is even harder and saying it forever almost sounds impossible. Serena stated that from her own personal account, she thinks its helpful to take things one day at a time and to constantly remind yourself of the bigger picture in that we all have changes that we want to implement and a new year is approaching and that is the perfect opportunity. Serena notes that people shouldn’t limit themselves and the potential that they have to live a better life and that change is never easy but with a challenge you build a stronger character, self confidence and a strong will which are very empowering. Serena noted that people need to take small steps and don’t look back and be the change you wish to see in the world.
