In an interview with Sky Sports based out of the United Kingdom, WWE SmackDown superstar and the winner of the 2012 Royal Rumble, Sheamus, noted that the current plan calls for him to choose his oppponent at WrestleMania 28 following the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event as the champions will be set leading into WrestleMania. Sheamus noted that he’s got plenty of time between now and WrestleMania to decide what title he wants to go after and said that after the Elimination Chamber event is done, he’ll let everyone know what’s going on and they’ve only got a couple more weeks to worry about it.

Sheamus then commented on his frustrations with last year’s pay-per-view where he was scheduled to face off against Daniel Bryan, only for the match to be made a dark match leading into the weekend of the event. Sheamus stated that he remembers being excited about the match with Daniel Bryan, as both men knew that they could tear it up and have a great match like no one else on the card, as they were young Superstars ready to go out there and do what it takes on the biggest stage, so when he found out that it was going to be a dark match, it was a real kick in the guy, as it was the big moment that they’d worked hard for all year, before stating that all wrestlers work hard, but WrestleMania is the moment to go out there and become a legend and when they were told it was a huge dissapointment.

Sheamus then said that he can also remember being at WWE Fan Axxess before Mania and people were telling him that they wanted to see the match and then it got pulled and became a big fiasco lumberjacks/battle royal match, before noting that in the WWE from one year to the next, anything can happen and from being there last year to being in a main event match this year is unbelievable.

Sheamus went on to state that a match against CM Punk is something that appeals to him as it’s a match that’s never happened before and a match that nobody’s ever seen and noted that a lot of the pressure of this year’s WrestleMania 28 pay-per-view is on the shoulders of John Cena and The Rock and they need to live up to the hype.
