NWA Smoky Mountain has launched a Kickstarter Campaign to help us raise funds to improve our production values for our 2014 TV Season.

For almost 10 years, NWA Smoky Mountain has entertained true fans of professional wrestling with its product, developing a strong following both in East Tennessee and around the world. It’s time for us to take the next step. We can’t do it without your help. NWA Smoky Mountain’s 10th season of television premieres in January, and we want our latest season to be the best yet.

NWA Smoky Mountain got its start by producing a weekly television show broadcast locally in the Tri-Cities market of East Tennessee in 2004. In 2006, we began uploading our show online, and have gained fans all over the world. Our fan base has continued to grow thanks to relentless promotion and a sound social media marketing strategy that has produced nearly 10,000 followers on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Starting with our first taping in January 2004 in front of 25 paying fans, we have steadily grew our fan base throughout the country thanks to a “whatever it takes” style of promoting and the strong content of our program. We have grown by leaps and bounds in the past year, drawing a record crowd of more than 2,000 at a television taping earlier this year.

Not only does our show feature the top wrestling talent throughout the region, but the program also features legends from the sport’s glory days, former and current stars from national television and champions representing the National Wrestling Alliance, the oldest active sanctioning body for wrestling in the United States.

Our goal going into 2014 is to spread our product to a broader fan base. The harsh reality, however, is that we currently cannot afford the level of production required to reach that level. To date, our production has always been done in-house by self-taught directors and editors. We strive to provide true professionals competing in our ring, and we require those same true pros to help on the production end.

So, starting today, we’re turning to true pro wrestling fans like you for help. We know there are many wrestling fans out there who have stopped watching the sport because they’ve grown disenfranchised with the current “sports entertainment” product. They yearn for the same sort of old-fashioned, traditional professional wrestling product they grew up watching. We provide that very style of wrestling, but with a roster full of top athletes capable of providing the modern style that the current generation of fans loves.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 for this project. We want to do this right. We aren’t interested in providing anything “second rate”. We want to give true wrestling fans the show that they deserve and have been missing.

Here is where the funds we raise will go:

52 Weeks of NWA Smoky Mountain – High-quality, professionally-produced one-hour shows uploaded every Friday for the entire year of 2014.

Equipment Upgrades – Including better lighting, a new set, an improved entrance way, railings to protect our staff as well as our fans, and more.

Rental Costs – The cost of renting venues for our monthly tapings.

We believe that we can make a change in professional wrestling and create a unique product that fans all of the world will enjoy. We just need a chance. We need our fans to take a chance on us. Together we create something unforgettable. Thank you for your support.
