The following results are from a recent WWE SmackDown TV Taping. The taping took place on August 21st, 2012 at the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California and will air on August 24th, 2012 at 8pm Eastern on the SyFy Network.

Note: Teddy Long is on commentary alongside Michael Cole as Josh Mathews was still selling the injuries from Kane’s attack at WWE Summerslam.

In Ring Segment
Randy Orton opened the show and said that with Sheamus retaining the World Heavyweigh Championship, he now wants an opportunity to challenge Sheamus for the title. Sheamus music hits and he comes out and agrees saying that he’d prefer to face off against Orton rather than Alberto del Rio, who is a complainer. Booker T’s music hits and he comes out and addresses the situation, however Alberto del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez come out. Del Rio says that after what happened at WWE Summerslam when Sheamus cheated, he wants a rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship. Booker T says that both men can face off later tonight, with the winner being announced as the #1 Contender at WWE Night of Champions.

Singles Match
Ryback defeated Jinder Mahal.

Singles Match
Layla defeated Alicia Fox. Following the match, Kaitlyn, who was on commentary for the match came in and had a staredown with Layla. Eve Torres came down to the ring and raised both Kaitlyn and Layla’s hands leaving both looking on bemused.

Backstage Segment
Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero are in the back mentioning what’s next and discuss Sheamus, who interrupts them and dares Dolph Ziggler to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase tonight and see what is next.

Singles Match
Sheamus defeated Dolph Ziggler via disqualification when Ziggler attacked Sheamus with the WWE Money in the Bank briefcase and considered the idea of cashing in, however ran as Sheamus began to recover.

In Ring Segment
Santino Marella came to the ring and talked about losing the WWE United States Championship to Antonio Cesaro at WWE Summerslam and started talking to the Cobra about the loss, however Antonio Cesaro’s music hit and he came out with Aksana. Cesaro got on the mic and proclaimed that he is a winner in German, French, Italian, English and his native Swiss before a brawl broke out between the two. Aksana distracted the Cobra on the ring apron, allowing Cesaro to take out Santino Marella.

Tag Team Match
Kofi Kingston and R-Truth defeated Primo and Epico. Following the match, The Prime Time Players who were ringside for the match stared down Kingston and Truth. There was then a backstage segment once everyone was in the back that saw The Prime Time Players interrupt Matt Striker’s interview with Kofi and R-Truth and start to make fun of Little Jimmy. An 8-man brawl ensued as The Uso’s, Primo and Epico all got involved. There was then a backstage segment with Booker T and Theodore Long discussing which tag team should be the new #1 contenders as Eve walked in with the win/loss records of all teams and tells Booker that she has also organized his schedule. Booker thanks Eve for her help, as both ignore Teddy Long.

#1 Contender’s Match
Alberto del Rio defeated Randy Orton.
