CM Punk and WWE for that matter, seem to be getting off the hook.

For those who missed the controversial ending of Monday’s WWE Raw broadcast, CM Punk had escaped an attack from Ryback, John Cena and Mr. McMahon, by running through the crowd. Fans began to verbally assault Punk, and some began hitting Punk, including one forearm to the back of the head. It was then that CM Punk turned around and lashed out at the fan he assumed was the one responsible, with an elbow and a punch in the head.

Through the last 48 hours of speculation, Charles Schmidt, the victim, had filed a report with the Sacramento Police Department, but declined to press charges, and was not injured during the assault. Mr. Schmidt did say that he was contemplating hiring a lawyer for a potential lawsuit, however, it is unknown at this time if the lawsuit would be solely vs Phil Brooks (CM Punk) or the WWE as well.

To further update the situation, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, had spoken with a representative of the Sacramento Police Department and was told after the declining of charges, the Department won’t be investigating further into this incident.
