Hideo Itami Discusses His Decision To Join WWE NXT

Inspiration Behind KENTA’s WWE NXT Name

For those wondering about KENTA changing his name to Hideo Itami on WWE NXT, the Hideo part of the name is said to come from former MLB pitcher Hideo Nomo, while the Itami is to do with Naruto Manga anime. Details On Tonight’s WWE NXT TV Tapings

WWE NXT will be returning to Full Sail University for tonight’s WWE NXT TV Tapings. Currently announced for the tapings is the in-ring debut of Hideo Itami (formerly known as KENTA), as well as Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady vs. The Legionnaires (Sylvester Lefort & Marcus Louis).

KENTA’s WWE NXT Ring Name Revealed

KENTA announced at tonight’s WWE NXT TakeOver: Fatal Four Way event that his new ring name going forward will be Hideo Itami. Itami was involved in a segment with The Ascension that saw them beat him down, only for him to return to the ring with a Steel Chair and run them off.
