Independent wrestler Teddy Hart (real name Edward Annis) was arrested yesterday in Richmond, Virginia and is currently incarcerated at the Richmond City Jail, according to a report from PWInsider.com.

The report notes that according to court records, 40-year-old Hart has been charged with possession of a schedule III narcotic and possession with intent to sell or distribute.

According to Virginia law, possession of a schedule III controlled substance is a Class 1 misdemeanor, punished with up to 12 months in jail and a fine of up to $2,500. Meanwhile, possession of a schedule III controlled substance by a prisoner (Va. Code §53.1-203(6)) is a Class 5 felony, punished with up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $2,500. Narcotics that fall under schedule III in Virginia, according to a report from SwangoLaw.com include anabolic steroids, ketamine, hydrocodone and codeine.

Hart is scheduled for a court appearance on April 23rd at 9am Eastern.
