In an interview with TMZ Sports, WWE superstar The Big Show, who is a Special Olympics Ambassador, took aim at Betsy DeVos, the United States Secretary of Education, who has proposed major budget cuts for the upcoming year, which would include axing all of the $18 million that the government has allocated for the Special Olympics.
“She’s like Cruella De Vil, I’m appalled. This is like the most ridiculous budge cut, one-sided b***s*** that could ever be done. The message she’s sending is that people with special needs, children with special needs, aren’t important enough to be part of society. It’s not about kids running and competing for medals, it’s not like that. These kids are seen by doctors, there are so many education things, group programs, thing that help them improve their quality of life…and to take away that opportunity, it’s just a horrible, callous, insensitive decision.”
