In an interview with CNBC’s Squawk on the Street, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson discussed several topics, including being named to TKO’s Board of Directors, gaining the rights to The Rock trademark and much more.

The Rock stated that joining the Board of Directors is an unprecedented move, and that his grandfather Peter Maivia and father Rocky Johnson would have never thought that something like this would happen. The Rock put over Ari Emanuel, stating that there is no CEO in the world like him and that game-changing deals are a testament to who Emanuel is, and that he himself is excited for the WWE/Netflix deal to come into play next year.

Johnson noted that he has secured full ownership of The Rock, in addition to joining the TKO Board of Directors and said that there is a business and economic side of getting the name, but that it also goes much deeper than that for him, as he owes the name everything as there would be no wrestling, nor a Hollywood career without it.

The Rock noted that the name is a derivative of his father and that Ari Emanuel had a million reasons to say no, but that he found the reason to say yes, and that the name is something that he has earned, and something that Emanuel thinks belongs to The Rock as it now does.

The Rock noted that this is his first time on the Board Of Directors for a public company, and that he has been asked to join other boards int he past, but the family connection makes this important and he is excited about it and always looking to grow. The Rock stated that he is a builder of things and enjoys building, loves and admires Ari Emanuel and loves building things with him.
