All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan took part in the pre-AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door media call and addressed several topics, including CM Punk’s return to All Elite Wrestling.

Khan said that in regards to the locker room dynamic since Punk’s return that it has been a positive experience at the last two shows in Chicago, while everyone was really excited about the television rating for AEW Collision’s debut episode.

Khan was asked about the rumors of Punk facing KENTA this weekend, and said that Punk vs. Kojima was the match that he wanted to see and that for anyone else who Punk was rumored to wrestle, he can’t comment on that.

Khan was asked about Punk and The Elite being in the same building and on the same card this weekend, but never directly spoke on that fully, stating that it is great to have so many superstars, including the NJPW talent on Forbidden Door this weekend and that he is really excited for the show.

Khan addressed Punk potentially having an ownership stake in the company and said that was not the case, however Punk wants the company to do well, and was just using a coloquilasm on AEW Collision when he said that he is trying to run a business.
