All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan took part in the post-AEW Worlds End media scrum on Saturday night and discussed several topics, including the success of the pay-per-view, being active in acquiring free agents in 2024 and much more.

Khan said that the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view had been a huge success and that it was a great week for AEW business-wise across the board as AEW Collision finished ahead of the NBA and top football competition and that it was the third straight week that they saw a ratings increase, crediting the Women’s Division and the AEW Continental Classic, while Dynamite posted the biggest rating since the Grand Slam episode back in September, proving that it was a strong week for AEW. Khan noted that the pay-per-view was a sellout and that it is tracking in line with the buyrate for AEW Full Gear, noting that it will be way over 100,000 buys and that this year has been their biggest year on pay-per-view.

Khan noted that QT Marshall’s contract has come to an end and that he respects him, and that the door is always open for him to return in any capacity, but knows that QT wants to focus on his wrestling career. Khan put over Marshall’s work in AEW as a coach, and said that any wrestling company would be lucky to have him. Khan said that you will see contract cycles at the end of the year and that he respects Andrade El Idolo, confirming that his contract was coming to an end at the end of the year, noting that Andrade had been a huge performer in the Continental Classic and that he wanted to keep him involved at the top, and if they had been able to reach a new deal, then he would have been put in a prominent position. Khan said that if that was Andrade’s way of leaving AEW, then Andrade left on a high note. In regards to Rafael Morffi’s exit, Khan said that Morffi left on the highest of high notes with a sellout for AEW Worlds End, and said that he was lucky to work beside him, and that now, Morffi will be taking on a job outside of the wrestling business.

In regards to the booking of the product being a committee situation in the future, Tony Khan said that there have always been different people in the room to discuss ideas with, and it’s been a pretty consistent process, discussing AEW bring on a hot run with strong pay-per-view and TV business and that going into the New Year, he feels that things have been on a good run, and that they put on the best sports-based product with the Continental Classic.

Khan was asked about several talents being free agents in 2024 and noted that he plans to be very active in free agency for the year ahead, and discussed how the Women’s Division is having the best run, while putting over the success of the pay-per-view and television product. Khan noted that while the people have changed, the creative process is constantly evolving.
