In a recent interview for the AEW Unrestricted podcast to preview the upcoming AEW Fyter Fest two-week event, All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan revealed how COVID-19 has impacted the AEW roster in recent months.

“A lot of the women in this company live in other countries, people haven’t been available in Japan obviously and from England. It made it difficult, but at the same time, we were very fortunate that a lot of the top women ranked in the division at the time were here.

In Georgia, we had 20 percent of the roster available to us, but we had enough people available that were going to be in the TNT tournament.

We were able to do this great tournament and tell some great stories, we were able to do some really good shows and I was proud of some numbers we did on the back end of those shows, especially as we went later in the month on the taped shows.

The numbers were going up, which proved the stories were compelling.”
