New Japan Pro Wrestling have confirmed that Tetsuya Naito will put his IWGP Heavyweight Championship and his IWGP Intercontinental Championship on the line as part of Night 1 of Wrestle Kingdom 15 against Kota Ibushi, a challenge issued by Naito himself as he was without an opponent for Night 1, due to Jay White stating that he will only challenge for both belts on Night 2.

Also confirmed for the event is Kazuchika Okada vs. Will Ospreay, which stems from Ospreay turning on Okada on the last night of the G1 CLIMAX and forming a new alliance called The Empire alongside The Great-O-Khan and Bea Priestley.

NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 15 takes place on January 4th and January 5th, 2021 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.
