In an update on Fred Durst being escorted from the WWE Summerslam pay-per-view for “flipping the bird” on-screen last night, a report from TMZ.com notes that the Limp Bizkit did not get kicked out of the pay-per-view last night as we had initally reported and in fact, went backstage and apologized to WWE officials for his actions.

A representative for the WWE speaking to TMZ noted that the reports were 100% false and Durst wasn’t escorted, continuing on by stating that Durst felt so bad following the incident, he immediately went backstage to apologize for his actions. The rep continued by adding that the company appreciates Fred’s apology, however, the WWE take their family-friendly environment very seriously and this was a violation of that and are sincerely apologetic to fans who saw Fred’s actions.
