In an update on the lawsuit brought against the National Wrestling Alliance by R. Bruce Tharpe, a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com notes that the latest hearing in the lawsuit brought against the company and its parent organization Pro Wrestling Organization LLC was held on Monday in Brownsville, Texas and during the hearing Tharpe’s side won a jurisdiction arguement against the National Wrestling Alliance, this time against their new counsel, which saw David Baucom appointed the new NWA Executive Director, with the judge ruling that the previous testimony, as well as the NWA responding to the courts in Texas was enough to grant jurisdiction.

The lawsuit from Tharpe against the NWA claims that the company fraudulently induced members to join the organization, including Tharpe himself, by claiming that they would be covered by the company’s insurance and former NWA Executive Director Bob Trobich, who resigned from his position within the company earlier this week, had lef a conspiracy among NWA members by pushing others to go along with alleged fraud and that the NWA Board of Directors, in conjunction with Bob Trobich had threatened members with fines and/or ejection from the National Wrestling Alliance if any questions regarding the insurance matter were raised. Tharpe is seeking damages in the region of $49,000 or under.

A trial for the lawsuit was set for May 24th.
