In an update on All Elite Wrestling recently announcing that Bobby Fish has signed a full-time contract with the company, the reason that AEW did not announce that Fish had signed a full-time contract until after his match against Sammy Guevara for the AEW TNT Championship recently was due to them wanting to position Fish as an outsider coming in and trying to win the AEW TNT Championship instead of a guy who was under contract to All Elite Wrestling and a regular match being made as a result, according to a report from Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer.

The report also notes that Bobby Fish coming in to All Elite Wrestling was recommended and largely put together by The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson).
