In an update on John “Bradshaw” Layfield stepping back from his role on WWE SmackDown Live, a report from Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated notes that JBL actually gave the WWE his notice almost 11 months ago, well before the situation with Mauro Ranallo and that he gave the notice after the WWE confronted him about changing his travel to arrive on Tuesdays when they were booking him to travel on Sundays.

For those unfamiliar, WWE’s policy is to have everyone in the town they shoot for television a night before the event, so that there are no last minute issues with anyone, meaning that JBL had to be there on Monday, however with him living in Bermuda, it meant that JBL had to fly out on Sunday to ensure that his connecting flight would get him to the town the night prior.
