In an update on Ring Of Honor Wrestling halting live events until April 2022, with the exception of the ROH Final Battle 2021 pay-per-view this December, a report from Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer notes that Ring of Honor Wrestling have made the decision to release all of their talent from their contracts, with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp noting that the releases come into effect at the end of the year and that if a contract goes beyond 2021, then that talent will be paid until March 31st, 2022.

Additionally, Sapp noted that ROH COO Joe Koff told talent that he had multiple meetings, trying to fight for Ring Of Honor Wrestling, but that ultimately Sinclair were the ones who made the call, with talent informed that there was some type of television show scheduled to be in place after ROH Final Battle 2021, but were not told as to what that exactly will be and that ROH talent were told to contact Greg Gilleland if they wanted to work elsewhere, with the company to work on making that happen if the talent are under a deal.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, Koff was asked as to what the hiatus meant for the talent and replied, “We care very deeply about our people and our talent, this is contractual and an individual conversation, I’m not going to comment on it at this point”. When asked if those talents could take bookings elsewhere, Koff stated, “We’ve had a conversation with them and we will certainly work with every talent for whatever needs they need to fulfill what they’re looking for”. Koff stated that the company will continue to run original programming on television, though archived footage will also be used, with them to tape television leading up to Final Battle next week.
