In an update on several changes made behind the scenes in the WWE, Adam Pearce’s new role in the company is Director of Live Events, which would give an indication that the company are preparing strategies for returning to the road, as previously that role usually meant overseeing live events, touring creative and lineups, according to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com.

The report notes that this would have been a role previously filled by Michael Hayes, who has been working on producing many of the main event matches and angles for Roman Reigns on the SmackDown brand in recent months, meaning that this is a case of Hayes putting his expertise elsewhere, leading to Adam Pearce moving up the WWE ladder.

Additionally, Pearce is expected to continue to produce matches in his new role and oversee other producers alongside Jason Jordan and that under the new hierarchy, he falls under John Laurinaitis’ umbrella.
