As mentioned previously on the website, WWE Studios are planning a movie on WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino’s life, following Sammartino’s decision to agree to enter the WWE Hall of Fame. The movie will be produced and directed by Paul Rosenfelt, who co-wrote the said film, along with Paul Guay (best known for his work on Liar Liar) and will look at Sammartino’s life, all the way from him being a sick child growing up in Italy, his wrestling career and the present day Bruno.

According to a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rosenfelt said within the past week that casting the lead role for someone to play Bruno wouldn’t be easy, however his discussions with the WWE about the film are serious and that the film will cover Bruno’s career in an honest and accurate manner and will feature several players and major opponents throughout his career including the likes of Vince McMahon Sr, Ivan Koloff, Hulk Hogan, Vince McMahon Jr, Larry Zbyszko, Superstar Billy Graham and many others. Sammartino wants the movie to be accurate as it can be and has asked for changes to things which have veered from the truth.

Should the film go ahead as planned, it will be WWE Studios’ first professional wrestling-themed film, something the company previously stated that they wanted to shy away from.
