Will Ospreay made a surprise return to New Japan Pro Wrestling during tonight’s NJPW Resurgence event, addressing his absence from the promotion for the past several months.

Ospreay noted that he has been medically cleared from his neck injury, but will not be part of the upcoming G1 CLIMAX Tournament and said that he is frustrated of being stripped of the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship after missing just four months of action while someone like Jon Moxley was allowed to keep the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship despite him not defending it for a year or thereabouts.

Ospreay said that in his mind, Shingo Takagi is a fake Champion and said that Shingo holds the Interim IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, while he is still the Real IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, unveiling another title. Ospreay said that he will make NJPW STRONG his home, before running down the LA Dojo talent. This led to Clark Connors, Karl Fredericks and TJP coming out to confront Ospreay who threw a bottle at them and escaped through the crowd.
