Following the recent news of Randy Orton being suspended for 60 days for his second violation of the company’s Wellness Program, the WWE are clamping down hard on the usage of performers using drugs, after Orton was believed to have been using Dianabol, which is more often used by weightlifters to gain muscle mass.

The feeling amongst many is that due to Orton being a top-name star and him being suspended, it will send a message to other talents, as there was always a belief that the company selectively chose people to be drug tested and selectively enforced their own drug testing policy violations based on a person’s position within the company, however that is not the case.

Following the public confirmation of Orton’s suspension, the WWE issued a strict warning to all members of their roster as Orton’s suspension makes it the most amount of suspensions within a one-year period in the WWE since the Signature Pharmacy Scandal as Andy Leavine (who has since been released), Darren Young, Heath Slater, Randy Orton, Referee Mike Chioda, Evan Bourne (twice), R-Truth, Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio have all been suspended this year.

Although testing takes place randomly on a weekly basis, the company will be testing much more of their stars than usual in early July, prior to the WWE Summerslam pay-per-view event the following month.
