– As we noted previously on the website, former WWE NXT superstar Eli Cottonwood requested his release from the company recently and was let go as he has received a job offer outside the company and decided to take it up. He is said to be leaving the wrestling business entirely with no intentions of returning. In addition to Eli leaving the company, the WWE have also released Jiro (who came in from TAKA Michinoku’s Kaientai Dojo), Benicio Salazar (the former El Hijo del Medico Asesino) and Sonny Elliott (an Australian developmental talent).

– In an update on plans for the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view, currently there will be a RAW brand Money in the Bank ladder match and a SmackDown brand Money in the Bank ladder match. Early plans call for Dolph Ziggler to go over on RAW, with Alberto del Rio or a returning Wade Barrett to go over on SmackDown. Speaking of Del Rio, he is featured in the promotional trailer for the pay-per-view which you can see below.

– The company are said to be looking at shooting an angle at this Sunday’s WWE No Way Out pay-per-view with Triple H, where he addresses his WWE future and Brock Lesnar. The expectation is that this will add viewers to WWE RAW the next night and lead to a WWE Summerslam feud between the two.

– In an off-air segment on last night’s WWE SmackDown tapings Triple H came out and pedigreed Jack Swagger, who complained about missing out on a World Title opportunity. Also following the tapings, John Cena defeated the team of David Otunga and The Big Show in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match.

– In speaking on last night’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Melter of F4WOnline.com notd that several WWE wrestling talent are wary of wrestling Ryback due to how stiff he works in the ring, which may be one of the reasons that the company are continuously using independent wrestlers as his opponents.

– TNA Wrestling superstar Matt Morgan, who is advertised for live events, but is believed to have ran through his televised appearances, posted a cryptic message on his Twitter account yesterday when asked by a fan if it was true that he was going back to the WWE, with the response of “Tick Tock.”

– The debut edition of Redneck Island, hosted by WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin drew a 0.42 rating with 665,000 viewers, the highest rated show on CMT for the day. Austin commented on the rating on his Twitter account noting, “It’s a damn crying shame that Canada, Australia, England, and other great countries cannot get CMT Redneck Island. A damn shame. Spreading Redneck Island around the globe is my newest task. Yes…To provide quality entertainment and content across the globe. #CMT #BSR”
