World Wrestling Entertainment and Gabe Sapolsky are no longer part of the lawsuit filed by independent wrestling talent Samantha Tavel (aka Candy Cartwright) after the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois Judge Manish S. Shah terminated them as defendants in a 14-page ruling today, according to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com who notes that Matt Riddle’s attempt to dismiss the lawsuit was denied, meaning her case against him will continue.

The report notes that the court ruled that Tavel, in her lawsuit filed in October 2020 against EVOLVE Wrestling, Gabe Sapolsky, Matt Riddle and World Wrestling Entertainment, seeking $10 million from each defendant, failed to prove factually that the court held jurisdiction over World Wrestling Entertainment or Gabe Sapolsky and could not prove that either was in any way connected to her claims against Matt Riddle.
