In a recent post on her official Instagram account, WWE NXT superstar and recent Mae Young Classic participant Zeda opened up on her experiences with domestic violence.

I know it’s Halloween today, but more importantly it is the last day of #DomesticViolenceAwareness month. I heard a friend of mine speak up about an ex getting physical with her and it just reminded me of the many women who have dealt with domestic violence but was too scared to leave or speak up about it. For those who know me know what happened with my domestic violence experience. Before it happened to me, I never believed it would. I had the misconception that it only happened to weak women, but I learned the hard way that it can happen to anyone. It took over a year after the first encounter for me to realize the severity of the matter. I was ashamed and scared to talk about it especially given my background. I am lucky that I got away and am alive today because of it, so I dedicate this post to all the women (and even some men) who have dealt or are dealing with this. You aren’t alone. I know you’re scared, ashamed, embarrassed but if you just speak up to someone who can help, it will be the first step in getting out and potentially saving your life. ???? . . . . . . . . #domesticviolence #survivor #purplenails #halloween #dv #speakup #wwenxt #wwe #nxt #zeda #tapout #domesticviolenceawarenessmonth #domesticviolencesurvivor #stopdomesticviolence #domesticabuse
