While WWE initally teased plans to do a Women’s Tournament earlier this year on the WWE Network, similar to the Cruiserweight Classic, it appears as if those plans have eventually been given the go ahead for 2017, as WWE have already began reaching out to female talents around the world, according to a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The report notes that the current plan is to start taping in early 2017 and that while some women were told that they would start taping in January, others have been told that they needed to be ready by March, with the feeling that they could tape some first round matches in the tournament in January with the other group of women not needed until March.

Meanwhile, speaking through her official Twitter account, 6-time TNA Knockouts Champion Angelina Love noted that she would be very interested in being part of the upcoming tournament.
