–The Kick-Off Show opens with Josh Matthews introducing the panel consisting of WWE HOFers Shawn Michaels and Booker T along with SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero.   They go on to discuss the upcoming US Championship match between Rob Van Dam and Dean Ambrose.

–Renee Young is then introduced in the all new “Social Media Lounge,” where she will be tracking all of the chatter on Twitter.  The official hashtags are #SummerSlam and #SummerSlamMoment to post your favorite moment ever.

–The Best vs The Beast video package is shown again.  Great job by the WWE Production with these highlight videos.

–Paul Heyman then joins the show from the backstage area, and further hypes the CM Punk/Brock Lesnar match up at SummerSlam.

–Footage from earlier in the day is shown, with Tony Dawson interacting with some of the fans outside of the Staples Center.

–A video package of E!’s Total Divas is aired.  The panel goes on to discuss the Natalya/Brie Bella match up later in the evening., as well as the mixed tag-team match.

–A video package is shown highlighting the feud between Dolph Ziggler/Kaitlyn and Big E. Langston/AJ.  Followed by a video package documenting the John Cena and Daniel Bryan WWE Championship feud, along with the Vince McMahon and Triple H storyline. Shawn Michaels goes on to comment on Daniel Bryan, his former student, who he’s known since Bryan was 18.  HBK says he can beat Cena, and that he’s pulling for him tonight.

–Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and JBL are at ringside and Cole runs through the card for tonight’s SummerSlam.  The Shield’s music hits, and the Kick-Off match is getting ready to start.

Rob Van Dam was closing in on a victory, going up to the top rope to hit his 5 Star Frog Splash, when The Shield’s music hits and Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins make their way ringside.  Ambrose rolls out of the ring, and The Shield look to have a 3-on-1 advantage when Mark Henry followed by The Big Show make their way to the ring.  After a break, the match continues, with The Shield and Big Show/Henry remaining on the outside.

Rob Van Dam defeated Dean Ambrose by disqualification, when Reigns interfered and speared RVD.  Ambrose remains US Champion.
