In a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, former WWE NXT UK talent Xia Brookside discussed several topics, including her release from the WWE, her future in the wrestling business, a WWE return and more.
Highlights of the interview are below:
On her WWE NXT UK release: “At first, it was a bit of, oh no I’m getting married in July, so I was planning that, and it was what am I going to do, but the love and support I’ve received from the fanbase has come back to me, they’re reaching out like, where are you going, what are you doing next. Wrestlers have reached out to me and I’m ready to hit the ground running.”
On her future in wrestling: “I was signed for four years, I got signed in 2018 and I was only 19 at the time. So much has changed since then, the indies four years ago, compared to now, is a completely different ballgame, there are so many more females over here now as well, I’m just excited to get back out there and try new things. I have something big coming up that I’m not allowed to talk about, it’s a surprise, but I’m excited. I want to work everywhere, I want to get back to what I was doing before I was signed, travelling, wrestling, getting to know new people, working with different people and growing myself as a wrestler again. There are so many new styles out there.”
On a potential WWE return: “I don’t feel restricted in any way. I know deep down in my heart that the door is still open, so it may not be now, it may not be next week, but I know if I work hard enough, I can get back there.”
