Eric Young captured the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of Thursday’s broadcast of Impact Wrestling, defeating Magnus in the main event.

Young became #1 contender to the TNA Title by winning a 10-man gauntlet match at the top of the show and was originally set to get his title opportunity at the upcoming Sacrifice pay-per-view, but instead challenged TNA Champion Magnus to a title match later in the show.

In the main event, Young survived a low-blow behind the ref’s back before delivering a piledriver to Magnus for a pinfall victory to capture his first TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Young sold shock and disbelief at winning his first World Championship as the show went off the air.

It is expected that Magnus will challenge Young in his entitled rematch for the Championship at Sacrifice on April 27th.
